The AWOL medical centre was opened in January 2013 after many years of often frustrating and time-consuming negotiations and procedural issues. However, the day finally arrived and the centre is now AWOL’s permanent home on the west bank. Although it is currently not fully equipped it does give us a much-needed base from which to operate.
The word about the centre has spread much further than the areas AWOL originally covered and we now see animals being brought to the centre from much further afield as AWOL is the only option for many of these animals and their owners.
We welcome visitors at the centre but please be aware we are not a tourist attraction and it is a working medical centre. There may be times when Dr Mohamed cannot break off from what he is doing to speak to anyone as his priority is always the care of the animals.
